Gay marriage community

Here is a copy of an open letter I sent to my students studying a course on community engagement. Like most other Western countries there is increasing support for legalising same-sex marriage in Australia. Kay Faust, a supporter of traditional marriage from the USA, is currently in Australia speaking against marriage equality. When I watched her on Q and A, I was unconvinced by her logic.

The Human Rights Campaign tracks developments in the legal recognition of same-sex marriage around the world. Working through a worldwide network of HRC global alumni and partners, we lift up the voices of community, national and regional advocates and share tools, resources, and lessons learned to empower movements for marriage equality.
